Welcome to The Midway Test
The Midway Test is an old standardised writing exam. The exam checks your overall knowledge halfway through the course. It is known as an 'anchor assignment' (sv: ankaruppgift), which means that all students at your high school takes the same exam.
The goal of the test is to write an essay on a topic that you are given at the time of the exam. Your essay will be assessed on language, content and structure.
You will receive a grade to indicate your current progress in the course, primarily related to your comprehension skills, writing skill, adaptation and discussion. It is important to note that this assessment is not your final course grade. It is a formative grade, meant to help you understand your strengths and areas of improvement.
What will the exam be like?
The test is a formal exam written digitally on your computer.
At the time of the exam, your teacher will provide you with background material that you will need to use, either by reading or listening to it
You will have 120 minutes at your disposal (it is possible to extend a regular lesson).
Your essay will be anonymized and once done, your essay will be assed by a group of English teachers. This is to ensure fairness and equality.
