A subject tells who or what the sentence is about.
A verb tells what the subject does.
The subject and the verb must be in agreement (meaning correct):
Singular subjects usually take verbs ending in -s.
✅ The dog runs quickly. ❌ The dog run quickly.
Plural subjects usually take the base form of the verb.
✅ The boys play during lunch. ❌ The boys plays during lunch.
